Description:

Poly(D,L-lactide glycolide) (PLGA) is a random copolymer and an amorphous polymer that is widely used in surgical sutures, anti-adhesion membranes, and tissue engineering scaffolds. Compared to PLA, the degradation time of this polymer can be controlled based on the content of glycolic acid (GA), which can also make the material soft and elastic. Different monomer ratios can produce different types of PLGA; for example, PLGA 75:25 indicates that the polymer consists of 75% lactic acid and 25% glycolic acid. The speed of degradation of PLGA varies with the monomer ratio, with a higher proportion of glycolic acid leading to easier degradation.
